“Golf Performance Maine was created to give golfers of all skill levels a place to improve, practice, and play year-round through PGA instruction, purposeful practice, and premium indoor golf simulation.”

I'm Rick Altham, a 25-year PGA Member and the owner of Golf Performance Maine. Throughout my career, I've worked with golfers of all ages and abilities, from beginners learning the game to competitive high school and college players and experienced golfers looking to take their performance to the next level.

I believe every golfer is different. There isn't one swing, one method, or one way to learn that works for everyone. My job as a coach is to understand the player in front of me—their goals, strengths, tendencies, and learning style—and build an improvement plan specifically for them.

Better Golf. Built on Better Information.

At Golf Performance Maine, technology is used to make instruction clearer and more measurable—not more complicated.

Using Uneekor EYE XO2 launch monitor data, high-speed video, and other performance tools, we can better understand what the golf ball and club are doing and identify the areas that will have the greatest impact on your game.

But numbers alone don't make golfers better.

The goal is to take that information and turn it into simple, understandable instruction, purposeful practice, and a plan you can follow.

A Better Way to Improve

My approach follows four steps:

Evaluate. Understand your game, goals, strengths, and areas for improvement.

Plan. Identify the priorities that can make the biggest difference and develop a personalized improvement plan.

Train. Work on those priorities through PGA instruction and purposeful practice.

Measure. Track progress using technology, skills testing, and performance results—and adjust the plan as your game develops.

This approach allows us to spend less time guessing and more time working on the things that can actually help you play better golf.

More Than a Golf Simulator

Golf Performance Maine is designed as a year-round golf performance and practice facility.

In addition to private PGA instruction, golfers can use our indoor simulator bays to practice, play courses, compete in events, and continue working on their games throughout the year.

Programs are available for recreational golfers, beginners, juniors, high school and college players, and competitive golfers who want a more structured approach to improvement.

Whether your goal is to make better contact, lower your handicap, prepare for competition, or simply enjoy golf more, we'll build the process around your game and your goals.

Let's Improve Your Game

You don't need to completely rebuild your golf swing to become a better golfer. You need to understand what matters most in your game and have a clear plan for improving it.

That's what Golf Performance Maine is here to provide.
